Bernard Bruack
(05/08/2023)
Recently the very sad news reached us that Bernard Bruack, our former colleague and friend, who participated many times in the FISEC Games, passed away on August the 5th at the age of 77.
Those within our community who have had the privilige to know him, will remember him as an extremely friendly and gentle person, dedicated to youth, education and sport. For many years he played an important role in our organisation, particularly during the FISEC Games, as head of the French delegation and as Technical Official (OTI) in basketball.
Personally I remember the many deep conversations I had with him. I feel his passing away with deep sadness. I admired his openness, the fact how he could talk about his family and share his always wise and mild views.
We wish his loved ones a lot of strength and faith in dealing with the loss of this wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Fedora Leali Parisse
(13/06/2023)
With great sadness, we convey the sad news of the passing of Fedora Leali Parisse of FISIAE-FISEC Italia at her home on Tuesday, the 13th of June 2023. Her funeral was held on Thursday the 16th of June at the Chiesa di Santo Spirito.
Fedora’s involvement with FISEC dates back to the late eighties. All those who have known Fedora, know that FISEC was deep in her heart and she worked tirelessly within the Italian Sports community and the FISEC International community to promote FISEC and its values. She single-handedly carried the Italian FISEC representation forward throughout the years and although her failing health in the last few years prevented her from being more active, she never failed to mention FISEC in each and every conversation even during the very difficult last few months.
She organised General Assemblies, always offering us great hospitality in wonderful places in Italy. And in 2017 in Lignano-Sabbiadoro, her dream of organising the Games came true, even though it came at great personal cost.
Indeed, FISEC still exists because of people like Fedora whose dedication and passion for this organisation has been crucial.
Last but not least we will miss a friend, a remarkable woman. May she rest in peace. She will be remembered in the prayers of the FISEC community.
We wish her loved ones a lot of strength to deal with this loss.

Steve Sanderson
(1950 – 13/03/2023)
The sad news reached us that our esteemed friend and colleague Steve Sanderson passed away in peace on March 13th, 2023, after a long sickbed.
Within FISEC we have come to know Steve as representative and athletics coach of the Great Britain team CSSF. Over the years Steve has played a massive part in transforming the lives of young athletes and in helping them to realise their potential and achieve their best in sport.
Also, Steve’s role within the international community of FISEC has been of invaluable importance. His expertise, his calm and wise presence, have contributed to technical, educational and strategic matters within our organization.
But above all, Steve was a friend. Despite his long long history of serious health problems, he was always optimistic with a focus on other people and not himself.
How we shall miss his presence, the calm and wise man with the hat in the athletics stadion. FISEC will not be the same without him.
May his loved ones find strength in their faith and in the guidance Steve has given throughout his life.

Louis Borg
(1936 – 19/07/2021)
Our good friend and FISEC Honorary Member Louis Borg passed away at the age of 85 on July 21, 2021. It was a great loss to his wife Edith, his family, friends and the FISEC Malta team. Our thoughts are with them.
Louis Borg was the former president of the Malta Basketball Federation and the Malta Handball Association.
For FISEC as an organisation Louis Borg’ commitment to sport, his expertise and his vast network in Malta and abroad have been of great value. Without him FISEC would not have enjoyed so many memorable FISEC Games in Malta. Without him, we would not have got to know the Maltese hospitality, culture and commitment to catholic sport for young people.
Many of us have had the privilege to work with him and to know him personally. We have enjoyed his warm friendship, his hospitality and have spent many enjoyable moments with him during meals, receptions and personal exchanges. A good friend has gone, we will remember him with fondness and respect. FISEC – Malta will not be the same without him. May he rest in peace and may his loved ones have the strength to deal with this loss.
On behalf of FISEC condolences were conveyed to his wife and family and to the FISEC Malta team.
